It’s that time of year again – Halloween Horror Nights is beginning! This year, the exciting news starts with Universal teaming up with Sony Pictures to bring their recent box office hit, Evil Dead, to life! Elaborately themed haunted mazes at both the Hollywood & Orlando parks will provide an authentic experience that will immerse horror fans in this cult classic! Guests will be captivated and forced to make their best attempt to escape – dodging the possessed victims of the demon and finding their way through the darkness. Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights has a more than 20-year history of creating an incredibly entertaining, horrifying Halloween experience that is consistently rated the nation’s best and this is another exciting collaboration.

eHow just launched their first Spooktacular Spark Contest. Each month, more than 100 million people visit eHow to gather information and ideas. They recently launched eHow Spark, a community for doers: a place where you can show off your projects, offer expertise, and gain exposure for your blog, books, and services.
How to Enter:
1. Create your Halloween project on eHow Spark and title it “Spooktacular Spark Contest: (name of project).” It can be a craft, costume, treat, or decoration. The only limitation is your imagination.
2. Upload photos of your Halloween project to show your progress and final product. We recommend using at least three images in the “Do it” stage and at least one photo for the “Done” phase. You can also build projects by recliping photos from your blog, and each clip will link back to your site.
3. Send a link to your completed project to spark@eHow.com no later than November, 1, 2012, 11:59 p.m..
eHow will select a First, Second, and Third Place winner from the completed boards, submitted by the deadline. Entries will be evaluated on theme, creativity, and original content. All Spark board clips must be original images.

First up, we had the cast of AMC’s hit TV series “The Walking Dead” –including stars Lauren Cohan (“Maggie”), Norman Reedus (“Daryl”) and “ Chandler Riggs (“Carl”) and joined by The Walking Dead’s Executive Producer Greg Nicotero—having yet another close encounter with the undead walkers in Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights maze, “The Walking Dead: Dead Inside.”

Annual Eyegore Awards, Honoring Hollywood Horror Icons
At Southern California’s Premier Halloween Event
Universal City, CA, September 21, 2012 – Universal Studios Hollywood celebrated the highly-anticipated opening of “Halloween Horror Nights” today with the annual presentation of the Eyegore Awards, honoring horror genre’s top stars and filmmakers. “Halloween Horror Nights” runs on select nights through October 31.
This year’s Eyegore Award honorees included Oscar®-nominated Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, renowned for the “Hellboy” films and “Pan’s Labyrinth.” Del Toro will continue his reign of horror as Executive Producer of Universal Pictures’ supernatural thriller “Mama,” opening January 18, 2013. Chad Michael Murray was recognized for his role in “House of Wax” and his upcoming horror film, “The Haunting in Georgia.” “Grimm” stars Silas Weir Mitchell and Bitsie Tulloch represented NBC’s hit series and accepted an award on behalf of the cult favorite TV show. The mother-daughter duo of Angélica María and Angélica Vale accepted the Eyegore Award for their role in the psychological thriller series “Mujeres Asesinas 2” (“Female Assassins 2”).
McKenzie Westmore, host of Syfy’s “FaceOff” helmed the event as this year’s Eyegore Awards host.
Joining in the celebration was last year’s Eyegore Award recipient, legendary shock rocker and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper, who also helped bring to life his namesake maze, “Alice Cooper Goes to Hell 3D,” at this year’s event. Other stars included Adelaide Clemens, star of the upcoming film, “Silent Hill: Revelation 3”; Kate del Castillo, who will guest star in “Grimm’s” Halloween episode, “La Llorona,” airing on October 26; Katie Featherston, star of the “Paranormal Activity” film series; and “Rock of Ages” star Diego Boneta. Other guests included Wilmer Valderrama, Bella Thorne, Sid Haig, Bill Mosely, Olympic Gold Medalist in Swimming, Conor Dwyer, LA Clipper’s Caron Butler and Ryan Hollins, and “Halloween Horror Nights” Creative Director, John Murdy.
